Knowledge Recycling for Developing Large and Complex Systems
نویسندگان
چکیده
Development of a large and complex system, such as satellites, is a knowledge intensive task. Applying knowledge management to such a domain appears to lead to a more efficient development process. However, it has been reported that knowledge management suffers from capture bottleneck, i.e. lack of incentives for members of the community to invest time in sharing their resources, or knowledge. In this paper, we propose an approach to capture knowledge emerging in the activities of development process with as minimal effort as possible, which we call knowledge recycling. We describe the prototype system for knowledge recycling, and present the initial results.

A more sophisticated understanding of the unpredictable, disorderly and unstable aspects of healthcare organisations is developing in the knowledge translation (KT) literature. In an article published in this journal, Kitson et al introduced a new model for KT in healthcare based on complexity theory. The Knowledge Translation Complexity Network Model (KTCNM) provides a fresh perspective by mak...

متن کاملAn Approach to Bootstrapping Knowledge Management Process in Engineering Projects
This paper presents the knowledge recycling framework for bootstrapping evolutionary knowledge management process in development of complex systems. The framework tackles the capture bottleneck problem by utilizing the large amount of information produced during development process of large complex systems. The hypothesis is that knowledge fragments, which are information that reflects knowledg...
